Oil on Canvas 20″x16″ 2003
A Spanish Conquistador has landed on the shores of Tampa Bay. He looks around and sees nothing. No city of gold. No fountain of youth. Nothing.
So he finds an Indian native and asks him how to find the way to Ybor City, where he has heard that they serve succulent Cuban sandwiches, Arroz con Pollo and big cups of steaming black Cuban espresso coffee.
He must have found a way, because the succulent food is still the mainstay of Ybor City attractiveness.
