I’ve always been a morning person. The idea of waking up on the East Coast and watching the sunrise has always fascinated me because I love the idea of being one of the first people to see the start of a new day. But, I’ve always avoided sunsets because there’s been so many days in my life where I wished the day would’ve never ended. And, as I’ve gotten older, one of my biggest fears in life is always wondering if my best days are behind me. And, in spending so much time looking back, I forgot about what was right in front of me. And this painting is meant to symbolize that fear of those better days behind me while simultaneously reminding me of those days I wish never ended.
