Description
“I Love The Way You Make Me Feel” is 30″x30″ and is acrylic and spray on a gallery wrapped canvas.
It seems odd to say, especially given my past issues with substance abuse, but my biggest fears isn’t falling back to what I used to use, my biggest fear is finding comfort in the easiest and most available product: alcohol. I’ve seen what alcohol can do to a person up close and to me it’s more addictive and dangerous than anything else because it’s permissible—it’s a legal addiction. So this painting is meant to symbolize that binary choice every alcoholic or person with addiction has to make. The wine glass represents dependence and addiction while the butterfly represents hope, change and regrowth. And what’s ironic is that no matter which path is chosen, the sentiment is exactly the same: “I love the way you make me feel”.
