“This is one of a series from a recent business trip to San Francisco. My husband and I were having dinner with a friend in the Marina district. We choose a little French restaurant that was housed in a building from the 1800’s. It was intimate with a great ambience and overlooked Union Street. The table tops were covered in copper which beautifully reflected the evening light. Before we ordered our wine, I took some pictures which resulted in these paintings. The sun was setting and the light was bouncing off the windows of the buildings on the street into the restaurant which created a feeling of warmth and invitation. For this painting I chose to focus on a close up of one side of the table to provide a different view”.
